250 YEARS OF LIBERTY CELEBRATING LIFE ONE BABY AT A TIME

Celebrating the birth of Baby Aziel—a life saved through sidewalk outreach as we honor America’s first unalienable right: Life.

ALBUQUERQUE, NM- 250 years ago, our nation’s founders boldly declared these timeless truths:

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal… that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

As we commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, we remember that life is the first unalienable right recognized by our nation’s founders. Without life, there can be no liberty or pursuit of happiness.

This Independence Day, we have a remarkable reason to celebrate.

A Baby Saved… Now Born!

On July 2, a healthy baby boy named Aziel was born in Austin, Texas, after his mother encountered our sidewalk outreach team outside a New Mexico abortion facility on December 8, 2025.

That day, she walked away from the abortion clinic in tears and told our team:

“I slipped the pill in my pocket. I know my baby has a heartbeat, and I couldn’t take it.”

After prayer, encouragement, and practical support, she left with her children--choosing life instead of abortion.

Over the past seven months, through our Life Fund and the faithful care of our mentor, Karen, Abortion Free New Mexico has walked alongside this courageous mother every step of the way—offering practical assistance, encouragement, and the love of Christ as she prepared to welcome her fourth child into the world.

Today, we rejoice because Baby Aziel is here—a precious reminder that every life is worth defending and every child is a gift from God.

The name Aziel means “God is my power” or “God comforts.” We couldn’t imagine a more fitting name for this little boy. From the moment his mother walked away from the abortion facility, the Lord has faithfully strengthened, comforted, and provided for this family every step of the way. In 1 Chronicles, Aziel is also mentioned as a Levite who served during the transportation of the Ark of the Covenant, reminding us of God’s faithful presence among His people.

As Tara Shaver shared after this rescue:

“Our sidewalk teams are ordinary believers doing extraordinary work. Every mother empowered to choose life shows that no barrier—language, logistics, fear, or confusion—is too big for the Lord to overcome. All glory to God.”

All glory belongs to Jesus Christ.

Standing for Life Requires Continued Faithfulness

Every week, our volunteers meet women outside New Mexico’s abortion facilities with prayer, compassion, practical help, and the hope of the Gospel.

Today, Abortion Free New Mexico is financially assisting seven mothers who chose life, including this courageous mom in Austin and her four children.

These families need ongoing help with housing, groceries, baby supplies, transportation, and other essential needs as they courageously choose life.
