BREAKING: PLANNED PARENTHOOD PERMANENTLY CLOSES ALBUQUERQUE ABORTION FACILITY JUST MONTHS AFTER REOPENING

Despite taxpayer support, another Albuquerque abortion facility closes amid broader industry consolidation.
By Bud Shaver,

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Abortion Free New Mexico (AFNM) has documented the permanent closure of Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains’ Northeast Heights location in Albuquerque after the AFNM team photographed a closure notice posted at the facility.

The closure comes just months after AFNM reported that the location had reopened and resumed offering abortion services.

The notice obtained by the Abortion Free New Mexico team states plainly:
“THIS HEALTH CENTER IS PERMANENTLY CLOSED.”
According to the notice, services at the location were moved to Planned Parenthood’s Eubank Health Center as of July 13.

The development is particularly significant because on April 9, 2026, AFNM reported that Planned Parenthood had reopened the Northeast Heights location and was once again offering abortion services there.

Just months later, the facility is permanently closed.

ABORTION FACILITY CONSOLIDATION CONTINUES IN NEW MEXICO

The Planned Parenthood closure follows another recent abortion-facility consolidation documented by AFNM in Albuquerque.

In July, AFNM reported that Alamo Women’s Clinic had closed its separate Montgomery Boulevard location and consolidated operations with Southwestern Women’s Options on Lomas Boulevard.

Now Planned Parenthood has similarly closed its Northeast Heights location and redirected services to its Eubank facility.

For years, New Mexico’s political leadership has enacted policies designed to expand abortion access, including using state Medicaid dollars to pay for abortions.

Yet New Mexico abortion facilities are still consolidating and closing.

Tara Shaver of Abortion Free New Mexico responded to the closure:
“New Mexico’s political leaders have gone all-in on abortion—using taxpayer dollars and government policy to prop up the industry. Yet despite those efforts, abortion facilities are consolidating and closing around us. This closure is great news and proof that the abortion industry is not invincible.”

NEW MEXICO TAXPAYERS CONTINUE FUNDING ABORTION

The closure comes despite New Mexico maintaining some of the nation’s most permissive abortion policies.

New Mexico Medicaid pays for abortion using state taxpayer dollars, and AFNM has previously investigated millions of dollars in Medicaid expenditures associated with abortion.

State leaders have also committed public resources toward expanding abortion infrastructure and access as New Mexico has increasingly become a destination for women traveling from other states for abortions.

AFNM Executive Director Bud Shaver said the latest closure should prompt lawmakers and taxpayers to reconsider the direction of state policy:
“Despite New Mexico leaders pouring taxpayer money into abortion and using government policy to prop up the industry, abortion facilities are still consolidating and closing. More Americans are identifying as pro-life, while the abortion industry faces mounting legal, financial and operational pressure nationwide. New Mexico’s leaders cannot prop up a failing industry forever. Taxpayer resources should support mothers, children and life-affirming alternatives—not abortion.”

PLANNED PARENTHOOD FACES $1.8 BILLION MEDICAID FRAUD LAWSUIT

The Albuquerque closure also comes amid significant legal pressure facing Planned Parenthood nationally.

In August 2026, the full U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit ruled against Planned Parenthood  allowing a lawsuit seeking approximately $1.8 billion from Planned Parenthood over disputed Medicaid reimbursements to move forward.

The lawsuit alleges Planned Parenthood improperly retained Medicaid payments after Texas and Louisiana moved to terminate the organization as a Medicaid provider. Planned Parenthood disputes the allegations.

The ruling does not mean Planned Parenthood has been ordered to pay $1.8 billion. Rather, the litigation seeking those damages is proceeding.

The combination of mounting legal pressure nationally and facility consolidation locally raises an important question for New Mexico policymakers and taxpayers:
Are New Mexico Democrats using your tax dollars to offset federal efforts to defund the abortion industry? And how much longer will New Mexico taxpayers be forced to prop up a failing industry?

AFNM: EVERY CLOSURE MATTERS

While AFNM celebrates the permanent closure, Planned Parenthood’s notice makes clear that abortion services have been redirected to its Eubank location.

The closure therefore represents progress—not the end of our work.

Tara Shaver concluded:
“We have prayed and worked for abortion facilities to close in New Mexico for years. Every closure matters. But as long as abortions continue in our state, we will continue showing up, exposing what is happening, offering women real help and working toward an Abortion Free New Mexico where every pre-born child is valued and protected.”
Abortion Free New Mexico will continue independently monitoring abortion facilities throughout the state and documenting closures, consolidations, taxpayer funding, and changes in abortion services. Our sidewalk team will also continue to be present on the ground, offering compassionate outreach, resources, and support to women and families outside Albuquerque abortion facilities.

BOMBSHELL: NEWLY RELEASED FAUCI TEXTS REVEAL MISCARRIAGE WAS DISCUSSED DAYS BEFORE AFNM WARNED PREGNANT WOMEN ABOUT COVID VACCINES

Five years after AFNM sounded the alarm, newly released communications reveal what was being discussed behind closed doors while pregnant women were being reassured there were “no red flags”—exposing deeper questions about informed consent and blind trust in a medical establishment that calls the intentional killing of unborn children “healthcare.”
By Bud Shaver,

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- From the onset of the COVID pandemic, Americans were told to “trust the experts” and “trust the science.” Pregnant women were asked to place extraordinary confidence in government agencies, pharmaceutical companies and public-health authorities while making consequential medical decisions affecting both themselves and their unborn children.

Five years later, newly released communications are pulling back the curtain on what was being discussed behind closed doors while those assurances were being delivered to the American public.

On January 25, 2021, Dr. Anthony Fauci privately discussed COVID vaccination during pregnancy and specifically raised first-trimester miscarriage, writing that the immune response following a second dose:
“theoretically could be associated with miscarriage in the 1st trimester.”
The newly released exchange also shows CDC Director Rochelle Walensky responding to the concern.

Yet just seven days later, on February 1, Abortion Free New Mexico (AFNM) independently sounded the alarm, publishing its first investigation warning pregnant women after the reported death of a 28-week unborn child following maternal COVID vaccination.

Then, two days after AFNM released its bombshell report, Fauci publicly told Americans officials were seeing “no red flags.”

Five years later, the contrast is impossible to ignore: miscarriage was being discussed privately, AFNM was sounding the alarm publicly, and pregnant women were being reassured that there were “no red flags.”

AFNM continued investigating throughout 2021. On March 2, we published whistleblower allegations concerning additional pregnancy complications. On May 23, we examined reported pregnancy losses and reproductive animal-study data. On July 6, we again examined adverse-event reports involving miscarriages, birth defects and other serious outcomes.

AFNM kept asking questions because informed consent is a pillar of modern medicine, and pregnant women deserved transparency when making medical decisions affecting themselves and their unborn children.

AFNM’s whistleblower investigations were subsequently recognized by Operation Rescue as its No. 1 pro-life reporting of 2021.

AFNM 2021 REPORTS:
  1. (FEBRUARY 1, 2021) Breaking: 28 Week Pre-born Baby Dies in Utero After Maternal COVID Vaccination
  2. (MARCH 2, 2021) UPDATE: Whistleblower Reveals Additional Pregnancy Complications After COVID 19 Vaccine
  3. (MAY 23, 2021) Vaccine Animal Trials Reveal Threat To Life In The Womb
  4. (JULY 6, 2021) Staggering Increase of Vaccine Injuries Including Death, Birth Defects and Spontaneous Abortion

Now, more than five years later, the private communications provide striking new context for that reporting: miscarriage was already part of the discussion among senior federal health officials before AFNM published its first warning.
Picture
“Throughout 2021, Abortion Free New Mexico kept sounding the alarm while Americans were being told to trust the experts and trust the science. Five years later, we now know that miscarriage was being discussed privately at the highest levels of federal public health before our first report was even published. Pregnant women deserved transparency about what was known, what remained uncertain and what officials themselves were discussing. Informed consent is a pillar of modern medicine, and institutional authority can never replace it.”

— Tara Shaver, Abortion Free New Mexico
The chronology now speaks for itself:
  • JAN. 25, 2021 — FAUCI PRIVATELY DISCUSSES A POSSIBLE MISCARRIAGE LINK
  • FEB. 1, 2021 — AFNM SOUNDS ITS FIRST WARNING ABOUT COVID VACCINES
  • FEB. 3, 2021 — THE PUBLIC HEARS “NO RED FLAGS” REGARDING VACCINES AND MISCARRIAGE
  • MARCH–JULY 2021 — AFNM CONTINUES INVESTIGATING AND SOUNDING THE ALARM AS REPORTS OF DEATHS AND ADVERSE EVENTS MOUNT
  • AUGUST 2026 — FAUCI’S PRIVATE COMMUNICATIONS COME TO LIGHT
Picture
As the private record begins to emerge, the lesson is becoming painfully clear:

“TRUST THE SCIENCE” SHOULD NEVER HAVE MEANT BLINDLY TRUST THE PEOPLE CLAIMING TO SPEAK FOR SCIENCE.

Science should withstand scrutiny. Medicine should welcome accountability. No expert, government agency, pharmaceutical company, medical association or billionaire-funded foundation should be placed beyond questioning simply because it claims to act for the “greater good.”

For AFNM, that lesson did not begin with COVID.

Abortion had already taught us not to blindly trust the word “healthcare.”

ABORTION HAD ALREADY EXPOSED THE CONTRADICTION

Picture
Long before COVID, modern medicine crossed a profound ethical line when the intentional ending of unborn human life by abortion became accepted and defended as “healthcare.”

That contradiction matters.

A medical establishment cannot claim an unconditional commitment to protecting every human life while simultaneously maintaining that intentionally ending an unborn human life constitutes legitimate medical care.

Once abortion was normalized within medicine, an entire class of human beings became an exception to medicine’s obligation to protect life.

The unborn child’s protection became conditional.

AFNM has watched the consequences of that transformation unfold in New Mexico, which has become a major destination for abortions from across the country. We have investigated abortion providers, documented abortion-related medical emergencies including at least one woman's death and repeatedly demanded greater transparency and accountability while political and medical institutions continue insisting abortion is healthcare.
Picture
That experience taught us a vital principle long before COVID ever arrived:

Medical terminology is not evidence. Institutional authority is not morality. And calling something “healthcare” does not make it ethical.

When the history behind abortion and reproductive medicine is followed backward, that lesson becomes considerably darker.

EUGENICS BECAME A DIRTY WORD. ITS WORLDVIEW SURVIVED.

A century ago, eugenics commanded significant influence within American science, medicine and academia.

Advocates for eugenics believed human reproduction could be deliberately shaped to produce what they considered a healthier or more desirable population. Physicians, academics, philanthropists and political leaders
embraced ideas about who should reproduce and what population outcomes society should pursue.

Many believed they were advancing science, health and progress.

That is the lesson of eugenics Americans cannot afford to forget.

The greatest danger was not simply that malicious people embraced terrible ideas. It was that credentialed institutions convinced themselves that subordinating individual human beings to a preferred population outcome served the greater good.

Nazi Germany ultimately demonstrated the horrifying extremes to which eugenic dehumanization could lead. After World War II, the word “eugenics” became morally radioactive.

But making the word unacceptable did not automatically destroy the worldview beneath it.

America’s birth-control movement developed alongside and intersected with the eugenics movement. Margaret Sanger, founder of the organization that became Planned Parenthood, embraced aspects of eugenics and cultivated alliances with prominent eugenicists—a history Planned Parenthood itself now acknowledges.

The vocabulary surrounding human reproduction changed.

Family planning. Population policy. Reproductive health. Reproductive freedom.

Eventually, abortion became “healthcare.”

The terminology became more compassionate, but AFNM believes the underlying moral danger survived wherever individual human lives could become subordinate to reproductive or population outcomes preferred by institutions with greater power.

The question remained the same:

DOES THE INDIVIDUAL HUMAN BEING COME FIRST—OR THE “GREATER GOOD”?
  • When the individual becomes expendable for the “greater good,” medicine can become an instrument of ideology rather than a guardian of human life. The history of eugenics is a chilling warning.
Picture

THE HARD PILL AMERICA NEEDS TO SWALLOW

This is where COVID, abortion and the history of eugenics converge around a much larger lesson.

No institution deserves blind trust.

That does not mean rejecting physicians, medicine or science. It means recognizing that experts are human, institutions have interests, corporations have financial incentives, governments pursue policy objectives, foundations have stated agendas and medical establishments can embrace profound ethical errors.

History has already proved it.

Eugenics was once promoted as science and progress.

Abortion is now promoted as healthcare.

And during COVID, Americans were repeatedly told to “trust the science” while institutions possessed information and private deliberations ordinary patients could not see.

The answer is not fear.

The answer is scrutiny.

Examine the evidence. Examine what institutions actually say—and what they actually do. Examine their stated objectives. Follow the funding and conflicts of interest. Compare public assurances with private deliberations. Demand transparency and meaningful informed consent.

Most importantly, never surrender your moral judgment about the inherent value of every human life simply because someone with impressive credentials invokes “healthcare,” “science,” or the “greater good.”

Executive Director of Abortion Free New Mexico, Bud Shaver, concludes with a warning about the hard lessons these newly released texts from the COVID era reveal:

“The hard lesson of these newly released texts is bigger than COVID, Fauci or one vaccine. They remind us what can happen when institutional authority becomes a substitute for transparency, informed consent and independent judgment. Americans were told to ‘trust the experts’ and ‘trust the science,’ but history teaches us that no institution and no expert should ever be placed beyond scrutiny.

That lesson becomes even more sobering when viewed through the history of medicine. Eugenics was once defended by respected experts in the language of science, health and progress. Abortion is now defended as healthcare. The words and institutions may change, but the danger remains whenever the dignity of the individual human being becomes secondary to someone else’s definition of the ‘greater good.’

The hard pill Americans need to swallow is that credentials do not make anyone infallible, and institutional authority can never replace conscience or informed consent. Science should help us discover truth. Medicine should serve human beings. And whenever the ‘greater good’ requires an individual human being to become expendable, our responsibility is not blind trust—it is to stand with the human being.”

BREAKING: LONGTIME WHOLE WOMAN’S HEALTH SENIOR CLINICAL DIRECTOR SAYS SHE LOST HER JOB AFTER 18 YEARS

Marva Sadler helped lead Whole Woman’s Health’s expansion into New Mexico; departure comes approximately one year after AFNM exposed Albuquerque facility operating without running water
By Bud Shaver,

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —
Marva Sadler, a longtime Whole Woman’s Health senior clinical director who became a key figure in the abortion provider’s expansion from Texas into New Mexico, says she has lost her job after 18 years and does not intend to return to the same line of work.

Marva Sadler relocated to Albuquerque after Whole Woman’s Health closed its Texas abortion facilities and helped establish the organization’s New Mexico operation.

In a recent public Facebook post, Sadler described losing her job as a “bad breakup,” writing:
losing my job after 18 years really was harder than I wanted to admit.”
Picture
Days later, while describing cleaning out her closet and getting rid of her medical scrubs, Sadler wrote:
I absolutely do not intend to return to work in that capacity again.”
Sadler did not identify her employer in the posts or explain the circumstances surrounding her job loss. However, an extensive public record documents her nearly two-decade career with Whole Woman’s Health and her senior role within the organization.

WHO IS MARVA SADLER? FROM TEXAS TO NEW MEXICO

Marva Sadler held significant clinical and operational responsibilities within Whole Woman’s Health for years.

In federal litigation challenging Texas Senate Bill 8, Sadler was identified as Senior Director of Clinical Services for Whole Woman’s Health and Whole Woman’s Health Alliance. Court filings stated that she oversaw clinical operations at the organizations’ Texas clinics and was personally involved in aspects of patient care.

Sadler was also present during a pivotal period for Whole Woman’s Health in Texas. In August 2021, as the state’s heartbeat law was about to take effect, Whole Woman’s Health publicly identified Sadler as its Senior Director of Clinical Services and reported that she was working at its Fort Worth facility as staff continued seeing patients ahead of the law’s midnight effective time.

Following the Supreme Court’s 2022 Dobbs decision, Whole Woman’s Health closed its Texas abortion facilities and expanded into New Mexico. The organization subsequently documented equipment and supplies from its closed Texas facilities being moved into Albuquerque and identified Sadler as its Senior Director of Clinical Services and a new Albuquerque resident.

When Whole Woman’s Health of New Mexico opened on March 23, 2023, Sadler was prominently involved in announcing the new facility. Whole Woman’s Health again identified her as Senior Director of Clinical Services and quoted her describing the Albuquerque location as the organization’s “next chapter.” The organization said more than $300,000 had been raised to establish the facility.

Independent reporting further documented Sadler’s lengthy tenure. In 2024, The Wall Street Journal reported that she had worked at Whole Woman’s Health clinics in Texas for 17 years before moving to Albuquerque and photographed her preparing a procedure room at the New Mexico facility.

Taken together, the public record shows that Sadler was not simply an employee at the Albuquerque facility. She held senior clinical responsibilities, oversaw operations in Texas, represented Whole Woman’s Health publicly and relocated to Albuquerque as the organization established its New Mexico operation.

ANNOUNCEMENT COMES ONE YEAR AFTER AFNM’S WATER REPORT

Picture
Sadler’s announcement comes approximately one year after Abortion Free New Mexico documented Whole Woman’s Health of New Mexico remaining open to arriving patients while the Albuquerque abortion facility lacked running water.

On August 16, 2025, AFNM’s team was outside the facility as part of its ongoing presence at the Albuquerque location when Water Authority personnel arrived at the property. AFNM reported that abortion patients continued entering the facility during that period. Photographs taken at the scene show Sadler and her husband working at the property while efforts were underway to get the water back on.

The incident raised questions about compliance with New Mexico facility requirements concerning safe and sanitary water and hot and cold running water.

Sadler has not publicly stated why she lost her job or whether her departure is related to conditions at the Albuquerque facility.
For nearly two decades, Marva Sadler was deeply involved in Whole Woman’s Health’s clinical operations and became a key figure in bringing its abortion operation from Texas to New Mexico. Now, after 18 years, Sadler says she has lost her job and does not intend to return to this work. Her departure marks a significant change for an organization she helped lead for nearly two decades,” stated Tara Shaver of Abortion Free New Mexico.
Picture
Since Whole Woman’s Health opened in Albuquerque, our team has consistently prayed for Marva, reached out to her with the love of Christ, and encouraged her to leave the abortion industry. We sincerely hope this unexpected change becomes an opportunity for a new beginning—one where she can walk away from the abortion industry for good.

— Tara Shaver, Leader, Abortion Free New Mexico
Sadler’s public statements do not say whether she was fired, laid off, whether her position was eliminated, or whether her departure will affect Whole Woman’s Health’s Albuquerque operations.

What is clear from the public record is that after approximately 18 years with Whole Woman’s Health—including years in senior clinical leadership and a central role in the organization’s move into New Mexico—Sadler says that chapter of her career is over.
