By Bud Shaver Albuquerque, New Mexico- On Friday, September 12, 2025, Abortion Free New Mexico received footage showing a woman who was apparently injured during an abortion at the Albuquerque Planned Parenthood. Her condition is currently unknown. A van with Texas license plates followed the ambulance to the hospital. Over 95% of out-of-state women obtaining abortions in New Mexico are coming from Texas. Here are some troubling facts about abortion in New Mexico.
Tara Shaver, spokeswoman for Abortion Free New Mexico issued the following statement, In light of this most recent emergency at the Planned Parenthood megacenter in Albuquerque, in which a Texas woman was apparently injured, Abortion Free New Mexico leaders are requesting that Texas Governor Greg Abbott declare a state of emergency to warn Texas women of the dangers posed by traveling to New Mexico for an abortion. Abortion Free New Mexico has placed billboards up in Texas to warn women of the dangers of traveling to New Mexico for abortions.

By Bud Shaver Albuquerque, New Mexico- Bud and Tara Shaver, leaders of Abortion Free New Mexico, are deeply grieved by the tragic and violent assassination of Charlie Kirk yesterday at Utah Valley University. They issued the following statement, Our prayers and deepest condolences go out to Charlie Kirk's family and closest friends. His death hits particularly close to our hearts as we began our pro-life ministry in 2007 on college and highschool campuses engaging in peaceful public dialouge and debate. We have long stood as unwavering advocates for the First Amendment rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. Although our outreach has moved beyond college campuses, our ministry remains actively engaged on the frontlines—now standing outside abortion facilities in Albuquerque, a city recognized as one of the most violent in the world. By Bud Shaver, Albuquerque, New Mexico- As states across the country battle over abortion legislation, the United States continues to be a country deeply divided on the issue. But on The National Day of Remembrance For Aborted Children (observed on Friday September 12, 2025 in Albuquerque this year), pro-life advocates across the country will draw attention to the 65 million unborn children killed by abortion in the U.S. since it became legal across the country in 1973. These victims of abortion will be memorialized during the annual National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children, which will be observed in Albuquerque with a graveside memorial service at 5:30PM at Sandia Memorial Gardens. Tara Shaver, spokeswoman for Abortion Free New Mexico issued the following statement, Unfortunately, despite Roe vs. Wade being overturned, abortion numbers in New Mexico are actually on the rise due to pro-abortion leaders in our state who are making New Mexico a magnet for abortion tourism. For years, despite our most ardent efforts to expose tax funded late-term abortions taking place in New Mexico up to the day of birth, uncovered aborted baby body parts harvesting, and even documented numerous abortion related injuries including at least one woman's death, radical pro-abortion democrats have refused to take any reasonable measures to protect innocent human life in the womb. As a result, thousands of babies lives have been lost and countless mothers have been forever scarred. Abortion only leaves women the mothers of dead children and their lives often take a turn for the worst once the guilt, shame and regret sets in. Shaver continued, On the National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children, we visit the burial places where a tiny fraction of the unborn victims of abortion have been laid to rest, and mourn for them.
The National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children has been held on the second Saturday of September since 2013. This national event, sponsored by Citizens for a Pro-Life Society and the Pro-Life Action League, is intended to humanize the unborn victims of abortion by highlighting the fact that every abortion results in a dead body that must be disposed of. While most of these bodies are incinerated, thrown in the trash, or flushed down the drain, a tiny handful have been retrieved from trash bins, landfills, and pathology labs and given a proper burial. Sandia Memory Gardens in Albuquerque, New Mexico is the only location in the state and one of only 54 sites in the nation where aborted babies are buried. Babies Ryan and Eve were obtained by Fr. Stephen Imbarrato, director of Life Ministries US and given a proper burial.
In addition, Abortion Free New Mexico has provided multiple memorial headstones for local babies lost to abortion and miscarriage at the same location. |
