By Bud Shaver Albuquerque, New Mexico- While many states have benefited from Roe vs. Wade being overruled, unfortunately in New Mexico, abortion is expanding and there is already a visible increase in abortion tourism. The Los Angeles Times put it this way, New Mexico, one of six states that allow late-term abortions, has for years been overwhelmed by travelers from swaths of the country where the procedure is forbidden. But the Supreme Court’s ruling Friday on a Mississippi law to ban most abortions after 15 weeks, reversing the landmark 1973 Roe vs. Wade ruling, has New Mexico’s abortion providers bracing for a new influx of patients from conservative states.” Over the past 12 years Abortion Free New Mexico has been successful in working to close several abortion centers and helped prevent the expansion of abortion through cutting edge investigations and accountability projects. However, in a post Roe America not only are women coming to New Mexico to capitalize on the state’s lack of common sense legislation that should protect them and their children from the brutality of abortion, but abortion providers are also capitalizing on the lack of laws regulating abortion clinics. In addition, the state of New Mexico financially incentivizes abortion by providing full funding up to the day of birth through New Mexico Medicaid. Most recently, New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham has even pledged 10 million state tax dollars, if she is re-elected, to fund the expansion of abortion further with a new abortion clinic in Doña Ana County. For several years now there have only been five abortion clinics operating in the state. Now there are currently nine abortion clinics statewide with one more making plans to relocate. Whole Woman's Health, is pursuing a move to a New Mexico/Texas border town where they plan to offer first and second trimester abortions. In the meantime, Whole Woman's Health advertises on their website the ability to, "get abortion pills delivered in as little as 3-5 days" and New Mexico is one of the five locations they are actively mailing these dangerous abortion drugs to. The abortion pill has become increasingly accessible nationwide through telehealth appointments and pill by mail options. Four out of the nine abortion clinics in the state are solely prescribing abortion inducing drugs also known as the medication abortion or the abortion pill.
Prior to 2022, Albuquerque was the only city in New Mexico where surgical abortions were being performed. Now an abortion facility, previously located in Mississippi, has relocated to Las Cruces, New Mexico to perform surgical abortions up to 19 weeks gestation. In addition to Albuquerque being home to three surgical abortion clinics including the notorious Southwestern Women's Options that performs first, second, and third trimester late term induction abortions. Albuquerque now has a new clinic solely performing medication abortions (up to 10 weeks) that has relocated from San Antonio, TX called, "Alamo Women’s Clinic" which shares a parking lot with a local Christian Church. Tara Shaver of Abortion Free New Mexico issued the following statement, The expansion of abortion clinics in New Mexico is likely to put more women's lives at risk because abortion clinics are completely unregulated and some already have a record of injuring women including the death of Keisha Atkins in 2017. Women need love, support and encouragement during an unplanned pregnancy, not abortion. Abortion Clinics in New Mexico 2022 Santa Fe, New Mexico

Tara Shaver continued, Abortion Free New Mexico has been on the frontlines of the battle for life in New Mexico since 2010. We urge New Mexicans of conscience to get involved, battles are not won on the sidelines. You are essential in helping to build a culture of life in our state. Let’s come together in a spirit of unity to stand together for our brothers and sisters in the womb. New Mexican values are rich in faith, family and tradition. Abortion is not normal, it is not healthcare and it is not a New Mexican value.”

Albuquerque, New Mexico- On Friday, September 16, 2022 the Democratic Party of New Mexico published a press release full of egregious accusations that have prompted our attorney to demand an immediate retraction. The Democrat Party of New Mexico (DPNM) is triggered that we hosted a fundraiser for U.S. congressional candidate Michelle Garcia Holmes and are attempting to disparage our reputation and are possibly even trying to incite violence against us by their rhetoric. The DPNM is accusing us of being extremists with, "ties to alleged domestic terrorism" when in fact, we came to New Mexico to expose late term abortions for the barbaric procedures that they are and also to lead women compassionately to tangible alternatives to abortion. Never in our pro-life missionary journey have we ever condoned violence of any kind, in fact, we are working to end the ultimate violent act that leads to the exploitation of women through abortion. The Democratic Party of New Mexico (DPNM) are the extremists because they support abortion through all nine months of pregnancy, even when babies could survive outside the womb. According to a recent poll released by the Associated Press, 80% of Americans oppose late term abortions. The fact that New Mexico is the late term abortion capital, is a hard truth that New Mexicans must grasp when considering who to cast their vote for this November. Late term abortions have no place in a civilized society but the DPNM fully embraces these procedures which take place over 3-4 days and result in the labor and delivery of a stillborn child. Late term abortion procedures are traumatic and can leave women forever emotionally and physically scarred. Angelo Artuso, attorney for Bud and Tara Shaver wrote in a letter to Daniel Garcia, Communications Director of the Democratic Party of New Mexico, the following, By publishing false statements of fact either knowing them to be false or in reckless disregard for whether they are true or false, you have exposed yourself and New Mexico Democrats.org to potential legal action. On behalf of the Shavers, I demand that you and New Mexico Democrats.org print and publish an immediate retraction of these falsehoods. Pro-life missionary Tara Shaver issued the following statement, For over 12 years we have served New Mexico as pro-life missionaries and have run a successful pro-life ministry without any acts of violence. We have exposed the graphic truth about abortion and have peacefully sought to bring accountability to an out of control and completely unregulated abortion industry in New Mexico. Our goal is to end the atrocity of abortion while educating our culture to embrace women in crisis who are considering an abortion in order to help them rise above their circumstances. By Bud Shaver Albuquerque, New Mexico- In the wake of Roe v. Wade being overturned, abortion has become a major issue in the 2022 midterm elections. Over a dozen states have enacted abortion bans, while other states are expanding abortion, and voters across the country are being bombarded with political ads on the abortion issue. But on Saturday, September 10, local residents will gather to remind the community that abortion is not just a political issue. They will be marking the tenth annual National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children with a graveside memorial service at 10AM at Sandia Memory Gardens 9500 San Pedro NE. Albuquerque, NM 87113. Visiting the graves of aborted children really puts these political battles into perspective,” said Tara Shaver of Abortion Free New Mexico, organizer of the Day of Remembrance in Albuquerque. “In fact, you may be surprised to learn that some of those victims have been buried right here in Albuquerque.” Fr. Stephen Imbarrato of Life Ministries U.S. obtained the aborted babies, Eve and Ryan, and with the help of Abortion Free New Mexico buried them at Sandia Memory Gardens. This location also has memorial headstones for local babies lost to abortion along with babies lost to miscarriage. Shaver continued, “In the 49 years that Roe v. Wade was the law of the land, more than 60 million unborn children suffered the violence of abortion. All the angry protests, overwrought political ads, and self-serving corporate grandstanding fade into silence when you realize that actual victims of abortion are buried right beneath your feet. These tiny children were never born. Never learned to walk. Never had a first day of school. They were never even given names.” Of the over 60 million victims of abortion since Roe v. Wade was handed down in 1973, only a tiny fraction have received a proper burial, at gravesites scattered throughout the country. But all of them will be mourned on September 10 during memorial services at those gravesites and dozens of other memorial markers set up in their honor. The Day of Remembrance is being organized by three national pro-life groups—Citizens for a Pro-Life Society, Priests for Life and the Pro-Life Action League—to humanize the unborn victims of abortion by raising awareness of their burial places. The bodies of tens of thousands of aborted children have been retrieved from trash bins, landfills and other locations and buried at more than 50 gravesites across the country. Join Abortion Free New Mexico in Albuquerque, at the only location in New Mexico where two aborted children are buried, for the National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children and ensure that our unborn brothers and sisters will not be forgotten.
