BREAKING: Leaked Draft Ruling Reveals Supreme Court Voted To Overturn Roe v. Wade

Breaking news as reported from Politico:

The Supreme Court has voted to strike down the landmark Roe v. Wade decision, according to an initial draft majority opinion written by Justice Samuel Alito circulated inside the court and obtained by Politico.

The draft opinion is a full-throated, unflinching repudiation of the 1973 decision which guaranteed federal constitutional protections of abortion rights and a subsequent 1992 decision – Planned Parenthood v. Casey – that largely maintained the right. “Roe was egregiously wrong from the start,” Alito writes.

'We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled,' he writes in the document, labeled as the 'Opinion of the Court.' 'It is time to heed the Constitution and return the issue of abortion to the people’s elected representatives.'

The immediate impact of the ruling as drafted in February would be to end a half-century guarantee of federal constitutional protection of abortion rights and allow each state to decide whether to restrict or ban abortion. It’s unclear if there have been subsequent changes to the draft."

Politico noted,

No draft decision in the modern history of the court has been disclosed publicly while a case was still pending."

Tara Shaver, spokeswoman for Abortion Free New Mexico issued the following statement,

If this is the end of Roe v. Wade in America, it will open the door for more states to pass life saving legislation and outlaw abortion outright. This decision will save countless lives and will give the states the ability to decide for themselves which laws can best protect women and their pre-born children. However, at the local level this is an even more urgent call to action in New Mexico, as abortion on demand will remain the status quo. We must work harder than ever from now until November to oust the democrats that have hijacked New Mexico with their radical pro-death agenda and have kept our state in bondage for over 90 years. Unless Republicans are elected across the state, late-term abortion through all nine months will continue unabated. In fact, New Mexico will become an even more targeted destination for abortion tourism.
