It will now go to the New Mexico House floor...According to the Albuquerque Journal, "The bill advanced past the House Judiciary Committee on a 9-3 vote, with Democrats in favor and Republicans opposed." The Santa Fe New Mexican added more details about the intense debate that stalled the vote that was scheduled last Friday, "House Bill 90 has prompted some of the most emotional discussions of the legislative session, raising issues of life, death and the government’s role in deeply personal medical decisions. The bill also has prompted several rounds of amendments by lawmakers weighing exactly how the process should work for patients seeking such a choice.
