By Bud Shaver Albuquerque, New Mexico- This weekend's Off the Cuff ABQ Talk Radio Block Party will be held on Saturday, October 23rd from 12-4pm in the parking lot of Calvary Chapel East located at 12820 Indian School Rd. NE in Albuquerque. This free family event is being hosted by Off The Cuff ABQ and Abortion Free New Mexico. Come on out and grab lunch at a food truck, stay for praise and worship led by Calvary Chapel East's band and hear from the candidates. There is a park on site for the kids to play as well as door prizes and raffles. This event has been planned in the spirit of Faith, Family and Freedom! Tara Shaver, spokeswoman for Abortion Free New Mexico issued the following statement, "We are excited to have more candidates sign Abortion Free New Mexico's pro-life pledge to defend life from conception until natural death. These candidates are proud to stand for life and we stand with them for a better New Mexico. Abortion Free New Mexico is blessed to partner with Off the Cuff ABQ Talk Radio and Calvary Chapel East to provide the community with a family friendly event that will be full of fellowship and encouragement. Together we are a stronger voice for those who have none." The following candidates who have signed the pro-life pledge and will be speaking at the block party are, Renee Grout for Albuquerque City Council District 9 and write-in candidate Celia Cortez for Albuquerque Public School (APS) Board District 6 both are running to represent the area where Calvary Chapel East is located. In addition, two Republican candidates for Lieutenant Governor Isabella Solis and Anthony Thornton, as well as Ali Ennenga for Albuquerque Public School (APS) Board District 3 and write-in candidate Patrick Sais for Albuquerque Mayor will also speak.
All of these candidates have signed our Pro-Life Pledge! Abortion Free New Mexico’s Pro-Life Pledge states: “I pledge to defend life from conception to natural death. I am pro life. I was adopted so I'm thankful my birth mom opted for adoption or I wouldn't be having this conversation. I am Catholic & we don't agree with abortion. I couldn't find a place to sign up but you can add my name to your list. I've had 6 children myself & "abortion" is NOT something I could do unless it was maybe dire circumstances, if even at that. I will not support or vote for any candidate who supports abortion!
